About this item
A scarce early war liner for the 1930 pattern sidcot flying suit dated 1939.
These brown kapok quilted rayon liners were designed to fit inside the 1930 pattern sidcot suit and differ from the liners made for the 1940/41 pattern liners. This pattern features a zip from the crotch to the neck line as well as zips on the outside edge from the ankle to the arm which differs from the later suits.
The suit retains its original issue label which bares the Air Ministry 'A.M' marking which is surmounted by a Kings Crown. Below this is the 1939 contract date followed by the date itself. The size is No.4 and the various details of the fitting are stated.
The suit also retains all of its original 'DOT' zippers. These show signs of corrosion but appear to be intact still and should work fine after careful cleaning, if the next owner so desires to do so.
The overall condition of the suit is fairly good for its age with the usual signs of service wear etc. Please study the pictures as these form part of the description.
All in all a nice original early war Sidcot liner which would be ideal for someone collecting Battle for France or Battle of Britain period items.
