About this item
An original 1950s British military private purchase khaki drill bush jacket made by 'Tootal'.
This jacket is not a standard military issue item although the name and number which have been added by the original owner show that this was worn by someone serving with the British military. The jacket is made from Tootals own 'Kenik' fabric which is similar to cotton drill but has a softer, smoother and more polished feel to it. It is made in the standard bush jacket style with patch pockets to the chest, lower bellows pockets and short sleeves. Epaulettes are fitted each shoulder and belt loops are located at the waist which would indicate that the jacket would have originally been fitted with a belt.
The original label is present to the interior and reads 'Made of Kenik a Tootal fabric made in England'. Below this is a small size tag which bears the number 2. The original owner has added his name in ink below this which reads 1674801 Lowe.
The shirt is a small size which will suit around a 36" chest and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 20 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Length - 27"
The jacket is in good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. It is a pre-worn vintage item however which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original 1950s bush jacket made from an interesting material and with a great label.
