About this item
An original RAF Officers Service Dress tunic named to A. Dodson and dated 1953.
The tunic is a three button example which came into service with RAF officers in the immediate post-war years and was made by 'Hector Powe'. The label inside gives the date as the 1st of January 1953 making it one of the last to be made under the reign of King George VI.
The tunic is fitted with a set of brass Kings crown RAF buttons and a Navigators Brevet. To each cuff are two rings of rank braid denoting the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
The tunic measures as a 36 Long and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 20 1/2"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 27 1/4"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Length - 32 1/2"
The tunic is in good condition but has been worn and has various signs of this. It is by no means a perfect example but it does display nicely none-the-less.
Overall a nice post-war RAF Officers tunic in a hard to find tall size.
