Original USMC P44 Cut-Off Herringbone Twill Jacket
An original United States Marine Corps P44 Herringbone Twill tunic dating from the Second World War in well worn condition.
This pattern of Jacket was introduced into service in 1944 and saw issue mainly in the Pacific Theatre. Made from the standard OD7 green Herringbone Twill, or HBT; this jacket features two side opening chest pockets and a flapped patch pocket to the left breast. The USMC logo is printed onto the pocket as is usual to find during this period and all the surviving buttons are metal donut buttons which are all marked 'U.S. Marine Corps'.
The jacket is a large size which will suit someone of a 42-44" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24 1/2"
Length - 27 1/2"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
The jacket is in well worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. There is fading, staining and some repairs which give it an amazing look! Whilst the jacket appears to still be very wearable please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
