    About this item

An original WW2 British Khaki Drill tunic in a large size 42" chest.

This pattern of tunic is typical of those worn by British Officers in the Middle East and Far East. Whilst this pattern is considered to by Army these were also worn by Royal Navy officers and sometimes RAF officers amongst others. It is a theatre made example as is evident from the stitching and materials. Theatre made items were commonly worn during the Second World War in the Middle East, Far East and Italy due to shorter supply lines.

The tunic features two buttoning breast pockets and two flapped lower pockets, epaulettes, long sleeves with a buttoning cuff and belt loops to attach a waist belt too. There is no waist belt included with this jacket but they were regularly worn either without belts or with webbing or leather belts.

The tunic is a larger size which will suit somone of around a 42" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

    Chest -

The overall condition of the tunic is good with no rips, tears or other damage that I can find. It has been worn and laundered and has some period repairs and various signs of wear. It still looks to be very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

Overall a nice original tunic in a harder to find larger size.
