Original WW2 British Theatre Made Khaki Drill Bush Jacket

A nice original British Khaki Drill Tunic dating from the Second World War.

This tunic, like many Khaki Drill items, is theatre made. That is to say it was made in the Middle or Far East - most likely in India, although clothing was produced in many other locations. The tunic is made from the standard khaki coloured cotton drill and is cut in a typical bush jacket style which was favoured by many officers in the British Army and RAF. THe jacket features pleated chest pockets with scalloped pocket flaps and lower bellows pockets. Long sleeves end in a barrel cuff and a waist belt is fitted to the waist which fastens with the standard style of two pronged brass buckle. The button holes are hand stitched which is a common trait with Indian made and other theatre made items. The overall quality of the garment is very nice which would suggest that it is a private purchase example.

The tunic will suit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures - 

Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 16 1/4"
Length - 29 1/2"

The tunic is in great condition with only very limited signs of age or previous wear. It is very wearable and displays well but please bear in mind that this is a pre-worn vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age. 

A very nice WW2 tunic which could suit an RAF impression as well as a British Army or Royal Navy uniform.
