About this item
This jacket started life as a British Army Khaki Drill Tunic made in 1944. It has since been altered into a civilian jacket with a variety of alterations.
The original lower pockets have been removed and the breast pockets have been moved down into their place and have been left with an open top. The epaulettes have been removed as has the pointed cuff which makes the garment look much less military. Brown revolving shank buttons are fitted to the jacket and the rear features a half belt as was popular during the 1930s and 1940s. The lapel also has a typical 1930-40s look to it.
The jacket is a small size which will suit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 19 1/2"
Inside arm - 18 1/2"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders 17"
Length 30"
The jacket is in well worn condition with signs of age and wear. There are areas where pockets have clearly been removed. Please study the pictures.
An interesting civilianised belt back jacket which is very wearable.
