    About this item

A scarce original Royal Australian Air Force Khaki Drill Battledress Blouse clearly dated 1944.

This pattern of blouse was introduced into service with the RAAF for use in hot climates as an alternative to wool battledress. It is cut in a short blouson style similar to the battledress and features pleated pockets with scalloped pocket flaps and long sleeves. The waist fastens with brown plastic buttons with another which fastens the very top around the collar and two more at the cuff. The front fastens with black plastic Kings crown RAF buttons as do the pockets.

Inside the jacket the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states 'made in Australia' as well as the 1944 date. No size is not marked but it will fit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

    Chest - 22"
    Inside arm - 19"
    Outside arm - 25 1/2"
    Waist - 16 1/2"
    Shoulders - 16 1/2"
    Length - 20 1/2"

The jacket is in worn condition with various stains and marks as shown in the pictures. It is still very wearable and has a lot of character when displayed. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A rare pattern of jacket and a must have for the serious collector!
