    About this item

A rare original Indian pattern British pullover, clearly dated 1945.

This pattern of jumper was introduced during the Second World War and saw issue in the Middle East and Far East. It is noticeably different to its British counterpart as it features a two button fastening to the neck and openings to the shoulders through which epaulettes could be passed. It is made from a green coloured wool and features cotton drill reinforcement patches to each sleeve. The design of the jumper is far superior in quality and design when compared with the standard British Army pattern.

Inside the neck of the jumper the original label is still present. The 1945 date is present as are the manufacturers initials.

The jumper will suit someone of a 36-38" chest as wool jumpers pull out when worn and are designed to hug the wearers body. When laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 18"
    Inside arm - 19"
    Outside arm - 20"
    Shoulders - 17"
    Length - 22"

The jumper is in good condition with only very limited signs of wear and age. Overall it has a very fresh appearance but does have some darns, particularly to the rear. One of the buttons is also missing a section s can be seen in the pictures. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item.

A good example of this hard to find pattern of jumper!
