About this item
A very attractive example of an early (1935 – 1941) Army Officer’s dagger by Eickhorn.
Overall condition is very good. The fittings are nickel plated, the pommel with well defined oak leaf design below which is a beautiful and undamaged deep orange coloured Trolon grip and ferrule which sit perfectly on a generic A eagle crossguard. The portepee is in very good condition.
The blade is free from damage with some very slight darkening, the Eickhorn squirrel etched into the ricasso and remains clear.
Finally, the scabbard has one small dent 5.5 cms from the end. There is a nice patina down to the lower band below which the plating has dark patches, but this does not appear to be loss to the plating itself.
