    About this item

A very good example of the Model 1833 French Naval Dirk.

Manufactured using blades from obsolete socket bayonets at the Manufacture d'armes Chatellerault, around 24,000 were produced for use by boarding parties.

Correct inspection markings to blade and crossguard. Lanyard loop to the pommel. Everything solid, with no movement.

In october 1915 10,500 of these dirks were issued to French troops as trench daggers.

A fascinating little object, which has seen no less than three incarnations as a weapon, bayonet, naval dirk, trench knife!

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
