About this item
An interesting Imperial German Private Purchase Fighting Knife.
Scarce private purchase fighting knife modelled as a dress bayonet, known as "officers" bayonets in some circles.
This example is unmarked, but resembles others I have owned by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen.
Birds head pommel with non functional bayonet release button, and with mortice slot. The black chequered grips secured by two domed rivets.
The single edged blade with single fuller and a spear point. The blade with signs of service sharpening. No visible markings.
Housed in its original bayonet style scabbard.
Blade length just under 8 inches.
Total length 13.5 inches in scabbard.
Good overall condition, with some scattered staining and light pitting.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
