    About this item

A good example of a Nazi period Army officers Sabre by E & F Horster with laurel leaves rather than an eagle and Swastika on the cross guard, not all officers choosing to display the eagle on their Sabre.
The grip strap is similarly decorated as is the knuckle bow, crossguard or quillion and ferrule. At the ferrule the leather finger loop is present to allow the Sabre to be held steady when raised.
The grip is black celluloid with twisted silver wire, the celluloid showing some loss at the doves head knuckle bow.
The blade is near excellent, free from damage and with E & F Horster Waffenfabrick Solingen etched on the upper edge suggesting this may have been a salesmans example.
The scabbard is free from damage but with some loss to the black enamel paint, the carrying ring and chape in place.
