About this item
A good service used example of a mid war produced SA Dagger by the seldom seen maker, Hartkopf & Co. of Solingen, considered to be 9 out of 10 or the rarest of makers.
Manufactured in 1941 which is considered late for SA Daggers, this piece appears completely untouched, the locking nut above the top crossguard seemingly never turned. Both top and bottom crossguards are nickel plated with just the slightest loss to the plating where they sit against the wooden grip.
The grip is a paler shade with no cracks or chips and with the SA roundel and eagle securely in place and free from damage.
The blade is full length and free from damage with cross graining visible along with centre draw marks. The moto is clear but has lost most of the original darkening. To the reverse is the RZM logo above .7/40/41, the .7 being synonymous with this maker. Overall, the blade shows some patching but still rates as very good.
The scabbard is free from dents and retains virtually all of the original brown finish but there is loss to the plating on the magnetic steel fittings.
