About this item
A very good quality, late 19th/early 20th century Nepalese kothimora kukri.
This kukri is around half the normal size, and is likely made for a youth. The grip is made of a wooden core, covered in silver and hand decorated with floral and geometric designs. The 9.5 inch steel blade has twin spine fullers and measures.
The kothimora scabbard is made of decorated silver over a wooden core. The scabbard has a leather and red cloth undercovering which really makes the silver stand out. It is complete with its sangli chain and khissa pouch. The three implements are low quality later replacements. The upper panel is decorated with a panel of high quality (untested) gold, repousse decorated with a flower design. Below this is a stylised tiger.
A very attractive piece, and quite scarce to see one of this size.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
