About this item
A stunning example of a mid to late 19thC Anglo Indian bowie knife, likely produced for a British Officer, serving in the Raj.
Broad 10.5 inch spear-pointed blade, 1.45 inches wide at the ricasso, just shy of 15 inches overall.
The blade etched with an attractive damascus patterning. Sharpened distinctively up both sides in the Indian manner. An almost inperceptable bend at the very tip.
The cross guard and pommel plate etched with floral designs. Staghorn (Sambar?) grip. All solid with no movement, this Bowie has a very commanding feel and is of the very best quality.
Housed in a leather covered wooden scabbard with line decoration. The scabbard with line decorated steel mounts, and working Indian catch, with remains of the original frog.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
