    About this item

A WW2 Far East Issue Wooden Hilted Commando Knife.

This example in used but good condition. Unusually for this pattern, the grip has not split, nor been period repaired, as is commonly seen, making this something of a rarity.

No movement between blade and grip, or at the crossguard. It is one of the "chunkier" grips I have encountered with this variation of knife, and is very comfortable to handle.

The crossguard appears to be of aluminium, rather than steel, indicating it may have been produced for the RAF, when weight was an issue.

The blade has been service sharpened and is very sharp indeed. The blade is untouched, and would benefit from a sympathetic clean.

The pommel nut is recessed as is often found on this variant.

Housed in the correct unmarked leather scabbard. Typical wear and would benefit from a feed and polish

Blade length just over 6.5 inches. Just over 11.75 inches overall.

A used and carried knife, but a very respectable example, and increasingly hard to find in this condition.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
