A good original example of the hard to find Wooden hilted Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife.
This variation is often associated with Burma, and the RAF.
A well used and carried example, this example has a blade length of just under 6.5 inches. It has been sharpened, has pitting and has traces of original finish towards the base of the blade.
The knife's turned wooden grip is in good condition, with no cracks, splits or shrinkage, and the whole knife is tight with no movement and retains its original blackened brass pommel.
Housed in a scarce and totaly correct 3rd pattern/sheath knife hybrid leather sheath with original tabs in place and intact. It would have had a metal chape but this has been removed. The retaining tab is present but broken.
A good authentic carried knife, which won't break the bank.
