    About this item

For sale is an WW2 Royal Air Force Training Manuals Electricity In Aircraft Published 1940.

“ELECTRICITY IN AIRCRAFT   A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR THOSE STUDYING FOR THE AIR MINISTRY "X" LICENCE   BY W. E. CROOK A.M.I.E.E., A.F.R.AC.s.   LONDON   SIR ISAAC PITMAN & SONS, LTD. 1940”   The preface of this book is as follows:   “PREFACE   It is hoped that this book will be of assistance to those studying for the Air Ministry "X" Licence in respect of Electrical Equipment and Magnetos. At the same time, it is not claimed that aspirants for these licences will find all they need to know in these pages. Practical experience, together with proof of it, is necessary before the Licence is granted.   One of the difficulties which has hitherto existed is that much of the   information required by Ground Engineers in these categories is scattered   over a number of books and pamphlets, and it is this problem which the   author has aimed at solving by collating all the more important matter   in a single volume. Space limitations have made it necessary to be as concise as possible, and, although elementary electrical principles are touched on, the treat- ment of these is carried out more with a view to brushing up a student's knowledge than to teaching him something new.   The necessity for practical experience and the continual changing and development of apparatus result in photographs and sectional drawings having, in the author's opinion, no value whatever. The specific apparatus referred to and in some cases sketched diagrammatically should therefore be regarded as illustrative of principles, and not as a workshop guide. Co-operation on the part of the following firms is gratefully acknow-   ledged: British Airways Ltd., Rotax Ltd., Batteries Ltd., Messrs.   Peto & Radford.   Pembroke, 1940.   W. E. CROOK.”   This is in good condition.    This will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
