    About this item

The first I have ever encountered this is a very good example of a “Bognor to the Needles Route Chatlet” prepared by the Hydrographic Department of the Admiralty on the 29th March 1944 in preparation for the D Day landings.

Measuring 685mm x 435mm this the second edition dated 9th June 1944 and is chart F1090. It shows the South Coast of England as covered in the title with channel depths in fathoms. Most importantly, and the purpose of the Chart, it shows the channels in red from the South coast ports to Z Area (roughly on the Greenwich meridian) being the shipping assembly point defined by five Buoys forming a circular pattern with one at the centre.

The Charlet is in very good condition and worthy of being framed for display. I will be sent rolled.
