About this item
An original pair of new old stock, unworn British work trousers dating from the 1950s and made by 'Malport'.
These trousers are typical of work trousers made in the UK in the 1950s. They are made from a khaki coloured cotton drill which was popular with British workers during this period. The cut is typical of the 1950s featuring a twin pleated front, angled slash pockets, waist belt loops, a button fly and high rise waist. Waist adjusters which are joined by a piece of elastic at the rear are also present and are another typical feature.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present and bears the makers name 'Malport Regd' and states that the trousers were made in Hong Kong and are 100% pre-shrunk cotton. Below this label is a size label which bears the size of 42x29. As well as this the original swing ticket is still present to the exterior and bears many of the same details and proves that these are unworn trousers.
When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 20 1/2"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 16 1/2"
Inside leg - 29 1/2"
Outside leg - 42"
Cuff - 9 1/4"
The trousers are in excellent condition with no signs of previous wear or use. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original pair of 1950s work trousers in a hard to find large size.
