DRK (German Red Cross) service brooch.

Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, DRK (German Red Cross) service brooch. A rather extremely nice service brooch issued to female members of the DRK military nursing service whilst on active service. A die struck alloy brooch 30 mm in diameter with a silver wash and black, white and red enamel painted finish. This brooch features a black painted circular outer border with embossed silver washed Gothic script, "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Samariterin ", (German Red Cross Helper) on outer rim. A white painted circular inner field with a central red cross. On the reverse patent marked ‘Ges. Gesch’ Please note slight enamel damage at bottom right corner of cross on white enamel.
