Unissued Krim Shield by Rettenmeier

The first of three excellent Krim Shields all formerly part of the the Gordon Williamson Collection is this scarce unissued Krim Shield of a type now considered by most collectors to have been manufactured byRettenmeier.

Edge tab type with all four tabs remaining intact. It is interesting that in the original Rettenmeier wartime price list, the Krim Shield is listed as “mit Platte ohne Stoff” (with backing plate but no cloth) indicating this is exactly how these shields were sold. 

A lovely example in very good condition complete with backing plate.
