For sale is a WW1 Period British Royal Fusiliers 4th London Regiment Old Comrades Association Badge, which is maker marked Thomas Fattorini, Birmingham. This is in good condition.The origins of The Royal Fusiliers go back to 1685 when George Legg (Lord Dartmouth) raised The Ordnance Regiment and soon afterwards renamed The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, headquartered within the Tower of London. In 1881 the old system of numbering regiments was abolished and a territorial based system of naming introduced and so the 7th Regiment became The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment). In April 1968, the Royal Fusiliers ceased as an independent regiment they were amalgamated with three others to form the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. This badge shows the regimental crest comprising of a Tudor Rose and motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. This will be sent via 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
