For sale is a WW1 British Silver War Wounded Badge To William Coleman who served within the 2nd battalion Middlesex regiment.
This wound badge/ war badge is engraved 179374 on the back. William Coleman’s rank was private, his service number G/8810 and he served with the 2nd battalion Middlesex regiment and 5th reserve battalion. William enlisted into the British army on the 1st of March 1915. William served in the French theatre of war from the 6th of July 1915 onwards. Just after a year of service he was discharged due to his wounds on the 21st of November 1916. On the 5th of July 1916, William was unfortunately wounded. His wounds were Gunshot wound of the lower extremities. Simple flesh contusion or wound right thigh. William was entitled to a war medal, victory medal and 1914-15 star, he was also entitled to wear a wound stripe on his uniform. Accompanying this medal is five scans of his service records.
