    Awarded to Miss Moira Sulivan was awarded 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal 1939-45 & War Medal 1939-45.She was born 27th February 1913 in Droxford, Hampshire. She was the daughter of Vice Admiral (retired) Norton Allen Sulivan C.V.O. R.N. She served with the Voluntary Aid Detachments as a nurse during the Second World War. Original documents indicate she reported to duty with the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar in Gosport, Hampshire on the 12th August 1942. Later during the war she was posted abroad seeing service at the Royal Naval Auxiliary Hospital  Kilindini, Mombasa, East Africa. During her service with VAD ‘Voluntary Aid Detachments she was awarded a number of certificates. One was for completing one year’s war service from 7th January 1943 to 6th January 1944. She was also awarded the Home Nursing Proficiency Badge plus bars for service during the war for same period. Plus British Red Cross Medal award for efficient service. (with original Portrait Photo, VAD Form 8.  Mobilization order form, Christmas Greeting 1944/New Year Greeting 1945 card (sent by parents), Certificate for Nursing Proficiency Badge, Certificate for war service, British Red Cross Medal certificate. Plus copy General details on recipient /Civil Registration, 1911 Census, Service record and papers to recipient’s father.)
