About this item
An original RAF Sidcot Suit Liner dating from the Second World War.
This pattern of liner was designed to fit the 1941 pattern sidcot suit. It is made from a brown coloured rayon which is filled with kapok for insulation. It features a brass zip to the front, the puller of which is marked 'W' as is found on numerous items of WW2 RAF flying kit. Air Ministry marked zips are located to the cuffs and wrists and are again brass and long zips can also be found to each side seam, finishing under the arm. All the zips still retain their cotton puller tabs and are in good working order.
Inside the suit the original label is still present and states the size of 4. The contract number of 22C/855 is present as are details pertaining to size.
The suit is in good condition with some period repairs as shown in the pictures. Overall it displays well but it is a vintage, worn item with small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original piece of wartime RAF flying clothing!
