About this item
An original Q-Type Oxygen Mask as used by the RAF in good condition marked 'MASK P.1.B' with the stores code 6D/3040.
The original P/Q mask came out during the 1950s and has seen a long service life in the RAF. This example is later featuring the green rubber face piece with black exo-skeleton, the green rubber being a dermatologically non-allergic version.
The mask was made by 'MEL (Aviation Oxygen Limited) and comes complete with its original Amplivox 13100 microphone. This still retains the jack lead and plug which is marked 'PJ-068B.
This particular example is fitted with a harness which is attached to the mask by a chain. This harness allows the mask to be worn without the need of helmet clips or similar. The harness has a small plastic dial to the bag which adjusts the fit of the harness.
Overall condition appears to be good and it displays well.
This would make a great addition to any Jet Age collection!
