An original British Army Officers Service Dress Tunic with Royal Engineers Insignia, dating from the Second World War.

This pattern of tunic was used by British Army Officers for many years and still hasn't changed drastically to this day. This particular example however clearly dates from WW2. It is made from a khaki green barathea and features a rayon lining, both of which are typical of the period. The cut is also in keeping with the era being reasonably short in the body.

The jacket is not an austerity pattern so would be usable for any part of the Second World War. The buttons are brass Kings crown examples, the pips are also brass and the collar badges are original.

The jacket is a small size and will fit around a 36-37" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures 19 3/4" pit to pit.

The condition of the jacket is reasonable for its age but it does have a few flaws. There is some damage under one of the arms as detailed in the pictures and there are some marks and small holes to other parts of the jacket. There is also wear to the lining around the armpit. Please study the pictures as these form part of the description.

All in all a reasonable example of a WW2 British Army Officers Service Dress tunic which would make a good addition to any collection.
