An original British Army raincoat dating from the 1960s as issued to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Royal Military Academy Cadets and Warrant Officers.

This coat is made from a rubberised nylon material which was popular with various military and civilian services during the 1960s and 1970s. The material has a highly waterproof quality making it ideal for those in roles which dictate long stints in the rain. The coat is cut in a traditional raincoat shape with a double breasted front, waist belt with plastic buckle and pockets to each hip. The interior of the coat is lined in a navy blue coloured wool and metal grommets are fitted to each armpit for ventilation.

The original label is still present to the interior and bears the old style size system which helps to date the coat. The manufacturer's name of 'Traditional Weatherwear Ltd' is present as is the A/78 contract number and the size of 15.

The coat is a smaller size which will suit a 36-38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 28"
Shoulders - 17"
Length - 47"

The coat is in good condition for its age with some signs of wear and use. Overall it appears to be very wearable but there is some crispness to the material due to it being a rubber compound.

A rare coat made in an unusual material!
