An original British Royal Navy Dufflecoat dating from the 1940s which has been over-dyed navy blue.

This coat is the second pattern used by the Royal Navy during the Second World War. It is identifiable by the four toggle fasteners to the front and the hood adjustment system. The coat looks to have been over-dyed navy blue and would have been made in beige as are commonly seen. The coat features two large patch pockets to the front, reinforced, double layered shoulders and tabs to each cuff.

These coats are cut in a wide, loose fitting manner as they are designed to be worn as an outer layer over a uniform. This needs to be taken into account when study the measurements which are taken with the coat laid flat -

Chest - 26 1/2"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 26"
Shoulders - 20"
Length - 42"

The coat is in good condition overall and is still very wearable. It shows signs of wear and use but there are no serious flaws that I can find. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned, vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original 1940s coat which looks great over-dyed!
