The caption makes mention of German shells and bombs having landed in the area some of which can be made out in the picture. What I find interesting is that close examination of the picture, particularly to the lower left side seems to suggest that some of the crosses have been added to the original photograph, perhaps for propaganda reasons to vilify the German bombardment.

Good condition with some creasing and small tears to the edges
