A stunning original pair of British Army Officers brown leather ankle boots dating from around the time of the Second World War and in a size 8.5.

These boots are private purchase examples and therefore do not carry any date stamps or similar, making it impossible to date them to a specific year. They are however typical of those used in both the Great War and the Second World War by British Officers. The fine construction and small stitching is typical of earlier boots meaning that these could date from the Great War up until the1940s. The pronounced heel shape is also a good indicator of an early and nicely made boot.

The boots are not marked with a size but are tight for a size 9 in the width. I would suggest these are a size 8 or 8.5. The sole measures 11 3/4" in length, 4 3/8" at the widest point and 2 5/8" at the narrowest point.

The condition of the boots is very good for their age and they display very well. The soles show signs of wear and age as is common with boots of this period and I can't guarantee how much wear they have in them, as it is not possible to tell with vintage boots. Please study the pictures as these form part of the description.

The boots come complete with a pair of period shoe trees although these may or may not be original to the boots. The trees are made by 'W Barratt' of Northampton who were a prolific manufacturer of British Army Officer's ankle boots during the Second World War.

Altogether a stunning pair of high quality boots which would make an excellent addition to any collection.
