A framed Collection of 13 Original Cornish Home Guard Formation Signs

An extremely rare and of course absolutely original framed collection of 13 Cornwall Home Guard Formation Signs all contained in a frame measuring 347 x 314mm.

The collection was framed by Sully’s, a picture framer in Falmouth who at that time had a four digit telephone number so I’m assuming this was done in the 40’s 50’s or maybe the 60’s. All the Formation signs are fixed and perhaps glued to a card, each with the unit listed underneath. One, the 2nd Coastal is a hand painted representation, the original collector no doubt unable to locate and example at the time.

From top left to right they are:

1st Stratton,  2nd Coastal (not original), 3rd castle, 4th Wadebridge, 2nd St. Austell, 8th Helston, 6th Liskeard, 7th Falmouth, 9th Camborne, 10th Truro, 13th Bodmin, 12th Lands End, 14th Hayle and 11th Newquay.  

The appearance would no doubt be enhanced by a new frame but I leave that up to the next owner. Plain though it is this is the original frame and to me forms part of it’s attraction
