Although not uncommon to find this is a particularly nice early Tombak example of the War Merit Cross Second Class.

 Formerly part of the Gordon Williamson collection (Gordon being author of “The War Merit Cross” published by Bender) the Cross is not surprisingly a fine example. It retains all the original finish and is free from any signs of damage. The ribbon is full length and in virtually mint condition.

The book on the War Merit Cross is not included.
