An original pair of post-1932 Royal Navy Ratings Serge bell bottom trousers as worn throughout the Second World War and in the immediate post-war period.
This pattern of trousers features a flap front, a style which dates back to the 19th Century. They have a wide leg which was designed to be easy to roll up when cleaning the deck (a daily chore) and easy to remove if in water. The trousers feature a single pocket which has a cotton ticking pocket bag. The trousers also feature a cotton ticking lining to the waistband.
The trousers will suit a 30" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 15"
Inside leg - 32"
The trousers are in used condition but are still very wearable and display well. There are some signs of age and wear which includes a couple of very small moth nips to the crotch and a small holes to the seat, all of which are detailed in the pictures. Please take time to study these before purchasing as they are a vintage, pre-owned item with small issued commensurate with age.
A nice pair of original WW2 period Royal Navy Bell Bottoms which could make a good addition to a collection or display.
