Original medal ribbon for the full size British World War 2 Africa Star Medal.  This is "New-Old-Stock", as in medal ribbon made in the period of initial issue, which was subsequently not cut and issued.  

The sand colouring of the ribbon represents the African desert and the blue, black and red bands represent the colours of the British armed forces.
