An original RAF Ordinary Airman's Tunic which belonged to 1365791 Sergeant Thomas Hall who served with the RAF during WW2 including in the Far East.

Sergeant Hall enlisted in Edinburgh in late 1940 and served with the RAF during WW2. He spent time in the UK as well as in the Far East, most likely when his squadron was transferred to that theatre of war.

The tunic is a standard wartime Ordinary Airman's tunic made from the standard RAF blue-grey serge wool material. It is fitted with a full set of brass King's crown RAF buttons and the sleeves are fitted with insignia which are all clearly original to the jacket. The eagle badges at the top of each sleeve or the early to mid war semi embroidered examples and the sergeants stripes fitted below this are also clearly original to the jacket. Three medal ribbons are fitted above the left breast pocket including the Burma Star.

Inside the tunic the original label is no longer present although this is clearly a well worn wartime example. The original owner has marked his name and serial number to the cotton drill lining which offers the prospect of further research.

The tunic is a small size which will fit no larger than a 34" chest. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 18"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 26 1/2"
Shoulders - 15 3/4"
Length - 29"

The jacket is in well worn condition but is free from damage or serious flaws. It has a consistent look throughout and has clearly always been together. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A very nice original tunic which would make a great addition to any RAF collection.
