An original World War One era British War Medal, with length of replacement ribbon. Named as follows;

55187 PTE. W. R. STEVENS. M.G.C.

The Medal Index Card confirms William R Stevens was entitled to a pair.  Soldiers Died shows he was killed in action on 11 August 1917.  He formerly served with the Royal Berkshires under service number 25545, but this is not stated on the MIC.

CWGC notes he served with the 195th Company.  He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
