The French M1874 Gras bayonet is a type of bayonet that was designed for use with the Mle 1874 Gras rifle, which was the primary infantry rifle used by the French army from the 1870s through the early 20th century. The bayonet features a single-edged, straight blade that is 20.5 inches long and a hilt that is made of brass. The blade is attached to the rifle by means of a socket that fits over the rifle's barrel and is secured in place by a locking ring.

The M1874 Gras bayonet was introduced to replace the earlier sword-style bayonets that had been used with previous French rifles. It was intended to be a more versatile weapon that could be used not only for close combat but also for cutting through brush and other obstacles encountered on the battlefield. The design was based on the German "Butcher Blade" bayonet, and it quickly became a standard issue weapon for French soldiers.

The M1874 Gras bayonet remained in use with the French army until the adoption of the Lebel rifle in 1886. However, even after the Mle 1886 Lebel rifle was introduced, many Mle 1874 Gras rifles remained in service, and the bayonet continued to be used until the early 20th century. Today, the M1874 Gras bayonet is a popular collector's item among enthusiasts of military history and antique weapons.
