    Pioneer RFC Aviator Original large Photograph

    This image shows Lieutenant Colonel James Valentine DSO Royal Aero Club Certificate number 47 who qualified as a pilot in 1910. The photograph shows him pre war sitting in a monoplane wearing the pre war style stiff RFC Officer’s cap. Mounted onto original card. Overall size 13 x 8 inches. Image size 6 x 4 inches. Image is clear.

    Lt Col James Valentine qualified as a pilot in 1910, joining the RFC on it’s formation he flew to France in a Bleriot on the 2nd October 1914. He died as a result of wounds in Russia 1917.
