This Squadron was the 1st squadron to recive the new Hawker Hurricane in January 1938 it took part in th Battle for France in 1940 , Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain being deployed to Gibralter 1942 north Africa arfter the invasion of north africa and later Malta in 1943 south of France and Italy during the remander of the war
