An original 1940s British khaki drill shirt in used condition.
This shirt is typical of KD shirts produced for the British Army and RAF throughout the 1940s. It is made from a plain cotton and features green rubber buttons as are often found on British made KD shirts made during this period. The shirt features a half placket front which is typical of 1940s manufactured shirts with full button front shirts appearing more frequently by the end of the decade. It appears to have had the sleeves shortened and it has no epaulettes.
The shirt is a medium size which will suit someone of around a 40" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30"
The shirt is in worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. It shows signs of age and has some staining. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a pre-owned vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a good original 1940s period Khaki Drill shirt which would make a good addition to any collection.
