    About this item

An original British Army officer's shirt which was made by 'Coles of Knightsbridge' during the 1950s.

This type of shirt was very popular with British Officer's during the 1950s and 1960s. It is made from a brushed cotton which has been starched giving it a tough, hard wearing feel. Two pleated breast pockets are located to the chest and the collar is a typical late 1950s or 1960s cutaway shape. Epaulettes are located to the shoulders and the sleeves fasten with a barrel cuff.

Inside the neck of the shirt the original label is still present. It features the Coles logo, the size of 5 and a second label which reads 'Wash as wool'.

The shirt will suit a 40" - 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 23 1/4"
    Inside arm - 21 1/2"
    Outside arm - 25"
    Shoulders - 17 3/4"
    Length - 34"

The shirt is in good condition with some signs of wear and age. Overall it looks to be very wearable and it displays well but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A nice original British shirt by a prestigious maker.
