About this item
An original Royal Air Force Ordinary Airman's shirt made by 'Faulat' and in unworn, new old stock condition.
This pattern of shirt was introduced around the end of the Second World War and most likely dates from the late 1940s or early 1950s. It is made from an end-on-end cotton which is a darker shade to those worn by officers. It features a full button front, barrel cuffs and a neck band collar. Inside the collar the maker's name of 'Faulat Belfast' is present as is the stores code which starts with 22B-136, the size of 2 and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The shirt will suit around a 37" -38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Collar - 14 1/2"
The shirt is in good condition and is totally wearable with some light storage marks etc. Please take time to study these before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage item with small issues commensurate with age.
A hard to find mid Century British military shirt.
