About this item
An original British Jungle Green shirt dating from the 1960s which belonged to a paratrooper.
The shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics and was popular with the British military during WW2 as well as in the post-war years.
The shirt features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and long sleeves. The original label is present to the inside of the neck but has sadly been washed out.
The shirt is fitted with a parachute qualification badge as well as a black and green coloured lanyard. Both of these are clearly original to the shirt and there is also evidence of where either a shoulder title or rank star has previously been fitted to the epaulettes.
The shirt will suit a 38" - 40" chest and when laid flat the shirt measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 18"
Length at back - 36 1/2"
The shirt is in very good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. Please note however that this is pre-worn vintage item and may have small issues consummate with this.
A nice original 1960s shirt complete with airborne insignia.
