An original Indian Pattern British Officers shirt dating from the Second World War and in well worn condition.
This pattern of shirt was produced in India and saw issue in the Far East. It is typical of India made items featuring zinc buttons (many of which have been replaced) and hand stitched buttonholes. The shirt is made from a rough wool and features a neckband collar and a half placket front. Two pleated patch pockets are located to the chest and feature scalloped pocket flaps. Revolving shank buttons have been retro-fitted.
The shirt will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 22 1/2"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 22 1/2"
Length - 30"
Shoulders - 16"
The shirt is in heavily worn condition with some period repairs etc. There are two areas below the neckband which have worn through into holes as detailed in the pictures. The condition of the shirt has been reflected in the price but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A great pattern of shirt with some real character.
