About this item
An original World War One era 1914 'Mons' Star, with length of reproduction ribbon. The Star has been polished over the years with some loss of definition, particularly to the '1914' part of the star. Correctly named to;
18342 PTE J. MORRIS. R.A.M.C.
The MIC confirms Joseph Morris was entitled to the Mons Star trio with clasp, which is sadly missing. He reached the rank of Corporal and also had service numbers 7251405, 201343 and 17974. He was awarded the General Service Medal with North West Persia clasp.
The WW1 medal rolls show he was reduced in rank back to Private for 'using insubordinate language' on the 13th January 1916. The rolls also confirmed he was discharged on 8 May 1916 at the termination of his engagement.
