WW1 British Patriotic Rifle Trench Cap Sweetheart Brooch By T&H

For sale is a WW1 British Patriotic Rifle Trench Cap Sweetheart Brooch Manufactured By T&H. This is in good condition, however there is some wear to the gilding. 

  A scarce original Great War period 'Patriotic sweetheart brooch', gilded brass miniature rifle mounted on the barrel a soldiers peaked cap, the sling below set with red, white and blue patriotic glass stones; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'T&H' and 'Reg.641091' a registration design and patent date of 1914. This brooch is complete with its original pin fittings, gilt finish remains bright, complete with all stones.   The measurements are:   Width 49mm. Height 19mm.   They were called sweetheart brooches because they were often given as romantic keepsakes by members of the armed forces to their wives and girlfriends before they left for the front.    This will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
