    About this item

Regulation gilt brass hilt with decorated pommel and quillion. A good amount of the fire gilt finish remaining. The folding shell guard still functioing well, with some slackness when "up". Silver twistwire grip in excellent condition.

32 inch single fullered engraved blade, with a decent amount of the original blue and gilt finish remaining. Medium to severe pitting and edge knocks towards the mid and lower section of the blade, which isn't entirely straight, but pretty good for this pattern.

Marked "J.J. Runkel Solingen" to the spine.

Some movement between blade and hilt, which would be helped by the addition of a leather washer, the original having perished. Some light rust, and would benefit from a careful clean.

A good entry level Napoleonic blue and gilt officers sword. One of a pair which once hung above the fireplace in a country house in Dorset. The other also listed.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
